Tali - Sand Dunes at Kalipinypa

PATRICIA'S family country is Kalipinypa, where this remarkable painting depicts the Tali (sandhills), north-east of Kintore. Kalipinypa is an important Water Dreaming site with many artists in Patricia's family painting different aspects of this story. Her auntie Charlotte Phillipus, herself an established artist and director of Papunya Tjupi, also focusses her attention on the sandhills. When the rain finally comes, it is usually as a vivid and wild thunderstorm with flashes of lightning.
