Mina Mina Dreaming

THIS Dreaming is of a journey undertaken by selected women from Mina Mina, a sacred site in the Tanami Desert, north-west of Alice Springs. The women who undertake this journey are of the Napangardi and Napanangka. They collect the digging sticks that emerge from the salt pans where the desert oak trees grow and proceed east, gathering bush food, collecting Ngalyipi, the green creeper that crawls over trees and shrubs, all the while performing rituals of song and dance, to the place known as Jankinyi.
